Here is the truck fully loaded with 18 containers of filtered veggie plus another 80 liters in the tank. I went just over 4000km on veggie and went through one filter at the 3000km mark. I averaged 11km/liter of WVO throughout the trip.

Vancouver -> Nelson -> Calgary -> Kimberley -> Kelowna -> Quesnel -> Vancouver

saved around 600 bucks worth of fuel and got many questions about what was in the containers throughout the trip. People thought is was grape juice, wine, syrup and I even got Hash oil from one fellow...

That sure is a lot of weight in the back, eh. My cubes came out to ~38lbs. each and I filled out my hitch basket with 12 cubes for a trip. That's 450 lbs. on a basket rated to 500 lbs. It sure make you want to avoid potholes and speed bumps. When I combined it with an extra 112 lbs. for the full WVO tank in the van and 6 passengers with camping gear my father-in-law was getting pretty worried about the rear axle holding out.

The ultimate road trip rig would be a 1000L tote on a trailer with brakes, then the vehicle is free from having to carry jugs and you've got room for more fuel, but you won't be going anywhere up hill too fast!

Nice feeling driving so far on your own supply isn't it.

The savings from a couple of road trips, like yours, would quickly pay for a good trailer.

Cheers

the rear end in the toyota is more then strong enough, a few of my 4x4 buddies run 4.3L vortec motors with dual t-cases in front of them without issue.

I am also using one in my '47 willys project...

I love the fact that I can pack enough fuel to travel 4000km, makes driving to Mexico a little more affordable now.

I am not too concerned with the extra weight as you can adjust the suspension in this truck, plus it was only for a short period of time.
