Soon-to-be Pajero owner in PG

Post by GISdood »

I guess I can blame (thank?) Adam for me being here... My 1998 Tacoma just got bought back from me by Toyota for more than we paid for it 5 years ago - the frame rusted out prematurely. After hearing about all these Delicas and WVO ventures from Adam, we decided to look into it more while waiting for our cheque from Toyota Canada.

We wound up settling on a 1993 Pajero from Mark Bremner of Brave Auto International (who I HIGHLY recommend, btw) and we're eagerly awaiting its arrival in mid-September so we can get it converted to run on WVO.

Thanks to all the members who have posted about their vehicles and processing systems, I hope to put a lot of that info to good use very soon!

No longer "soon-to-be". We've had the Pajero here at home for a couple weeks now, taking care of the various electrical gremlins like glitchy power mirrors and the headlight washers. Overall tho, a great find and a vehicle we'll be happy with for many years. Now its on to scrounging up parts for a WVO filtering/dewatering rig at home and converting the Pajero over to veggie power.

hey there GISdood,
i also live up in the big ol PG, at the university.not that there many delis are up here but im the chamonix with the full length black roof rack ( you might see me and think i stole the car cozz im really young looking...i didn't though) ill be on the look for you now!

ps- i was thinkin about converting to WVO as well but didn't have anywhere to filter or hold the back stock. if i did switch would you be up for split filtration system and we both do pick up of veg?i mainly would only be using veg for my every two month drive home to whistler and back.

thanks

Sharing collection duties and cost would be great! I've got space for the filtration/storage, but I need to do some renovation & insulation work to the outbuilding I'll be housing it in so that I'm not storing solid, coagulated oil for 3 months of the year. Should be fun... I'll keep you posted as to when I've got space ready for collection and storage, and I'll certainly keep an eye peeled for your Delica, I often commute past the University to avoid the highway traffic on my way back out to Beaverly. Our Pajero is a LWB 4-door, blue on silver with a chrome bush bar and driving lights. I haven't seen any others in town yet, so we should be pretty easy to spot!
