Tutorial: How to show your photos

Post by Kuan »

I see some people don't know how to show photos of their cool vans here so I thought I would write a quick tutorial. There are lots of ways to do it but here is and easy way if you don't have any online storage.

1) Open an account at flickr http://www.flickr.com
Image

2)Click the upload button from your main page to get some photos on the web. (don't forget to resize them first) - just follow the on screen directions until you get your image online.

3)Once your photos are online you should see them in the "Your Photos" section.
Image

4)Select the photo you want to link in a post - which should bring up this window. Now to get the address for your picture click on the button that says "All Sizes" (magnifying glass)
Image

5)Scroll to the bottom of the page and you will see the link - you want the second one. ("Grab the photo's URL") Select it and copy (or write it down if you don't know how to copy/paste)
Image

6)Now go to the post you are writing:
a- click on the img button under the subject text field.
b- paste or type in your link
c- click the img button again (or close tags)
Image
7) click preview to preview your post then submit to show off your cool van and your adventures.

Hope this helps!

Now for homework Resize and upload photos and see if you can get them on your signature at the bottom of the post!

Oh BUM!!!!!  (is that just an English expression??)

Sorry Kuan - I was doing exactly the same as you in a different area!! :? (see HERE)

(Great minds and all that!  )

Was it Mitch's post that inspired you?? I blame him!

Do you mind if I copy and paste your guide into the same thread as mine?? It'll give people more info and more choice!

If you don't want it in there, just let me know and I'll remove it?? (I like to have peoples consent! )

Regards for now,

Bruce.

Good job guys!!! K dude, no more excuses Mitch.

Checked out your site Kuan, fantastic photographs! "The Orb" really, really grabs me.

I have put it as my background, did you know you can secure pictures against right clicking. I forget my html so I'm no help.

looks good Bruce. Thats Hilarious. we wrote it at the same time! Well folks, big thanks to Bruce for writing all those tutorials! They do take time and effort to do as I found out.

It was Mitch's post and I also got a PM from Pete&Jackie asking about images - something slightly different but got me inspired.

Thanks for the nice comment Kevin, feel free to use the image. I don't mind people using them - I would have made the gallery in flash if I wan't to protect them.

Hoping to see more pics on here and some nice tutorials by all you folks. No more excuses you have 2 tutorials simultaneously produced one in English and one in Canadian.
