Hi, just a minor issue but I had trouble trying to defrost my windshield in the dark the other day.
The backlight for the heater controls on my 92 Exceed is burnt out. Is it an easy fix?

ok, yes it's a minor problem..but no help? I don't want to rip apart my dash and possibly mess something up if i don't have to.. Does the heater control pop out or do i have to remove the housing first?

Haven't pulled mine but it should be just a small generic bulb back there.
Have you tried to take the trim off ?

Here's a post I made up regarding the lights in the switches, I think the bulbs are the same for the HVAC controls

Re: Heater controls backlight
Ok, I took off the housing etc, but the heater controls don't have a very obvious way of taking the plate off and seeing inside. I'm a bit skeered of breaking anything so I put it back together.
I will change some of the switch lights tho, cause that looks straight forward enough.

You need to undo the screws holding the heater control panel to the dash frame.Once that is done, you can push the control panel in & rotate down slightly. You will also need to undo the a/c switch. With the a/c switch removed you can fit your fingers above & below the bulb.Just twist the socket abit & it comes out.The socket is in the middle back of the heater control panel.
Thanks Shaun
