Hey guys, I remember a while ago seeing a way on here of doing the Daytime running lights without the module. Something along the lines of hooking it to the ACC wire on the CD Player.
Just wondering if there is a way to do it that way without a module!
Thanks

If you have the headlight pods with an extra, unused but intact socket in the high-beam compartment (says 5w, but I went with bigger bulbs 10w, I think) you can hook those straight to 'engine run' power, which is pretty easy to do, but if you wire the headlights directly to ACC or RUN you'll feed power back into those circuits with the headlight switch, meaning you'll be running your van through the small switch. There is a simple way to make the headlights come on with the engine, but it requires a $5 relay.

Can you elaborate more on the engine power wiring method?
Appreciate it!

use the search. somewhere in this tiny delica.ca universe is a wiring diagram that shows how to wire DRLs through a relay to acc wire on the steering column. i wired a couple of drls from this diagram

Re: DTRL...The easy way??
Both methods involve doing a bit of stuff...
If you have the high-beam "city lights" socket all you need to do is run a wire from each socket up into the grommet that has all the wires on the driver's side and connect it to a fat blue wire near the steering column. Ground is provided by the hi/lo beam connector. I don't have all the details nearby, but if you have a test light or multimeter you should be able to figure out what blue wire turns on when...
This is what it looks like (these are 5w bulbs, fine here but look dim in daylight)

Thanks for all the info guys!
I had time to run into Lordco today and buy a DRL Module. All hooked up and works great!
Thanks again

I really didn't like the idea of using my expensive ($80.00) low beam bulbs all day long, especially when I discovered they have a limited lifespan. I used the DRL Module to run high intensity LED's that I installed in the unused City Light socket in the eCode conversion headlight modules that are on most Deli's when they are converted.
Not only do they save the H3 bulbs, they look real 'cool' at over 4000K.

did you find an LED thats designed to fit right into the city light socket?JMK wrote:I really didn't like the idea of using my expensive ($80.00) low beam bulbs all day long, especially when I discovered they have a limited lifespan. Yes, you can use the existing sockets that come with the POD and order the brightest 10mm 194 push in you can find. See:did you find an LED thats designed to fit right into the city light socket?
