Ac button/clicking Heater fan?

alright, so ive had this beast for 3.5 years now.
is the ac on the dash on, when it is pushed in and blue, or out and orange. ?
I am having some confusing heater fan fluctuactions + clicking happening with the Ac button blue with heater on. ..
wondering if, anyone else can confirm this, as normal.
I suspect if the ac is the on, then it is to much draw on everything with the heater fan on, creating powercyles where the alt is required to kick in fequently..
keeping in mind both are belt driven.
Is there some strange noisy solenoid in the dash controlling this?

When the AC button is pushed, it's ON. When it's sticks out, it's OFF.
The amount of RPM fluctuation can be adjusted by the cable along the side passenger's side of the engine bay. I ended up adjusting mine so that I have less than 100RPM increase when the AC is on.
The RPM will fluctuate on and off when the AC is on.
That's all I have for you, good luck with the rest!

Mine clicks too. The ac works fair to middling when its clicking but once in a while the ac works without the clicking and it works very well. I only wish my fans pushed more air, the air doesn't blow very hard at all, even on the max setting.

Check the blower motor.

sorry, that was a bit garbled,
I was under the influence, and after getting a ride home in my own van it was bothering me.
Im sure it has to do with load on the motor,
the heater + fan creates possibly the most draw on the bat and alt.
and the AC motor must suck 3 + horse from an already small horse motor.
so my theory was, that if both were drawing to much juice the alt may have trouble powering the heater.... causing something to cycle a bit frequently?
and i was confused, about the on off,
cause the heater light is orange when its on, but the ac light is orange when its off.
soo.........
its all good though.
just dont run the ac engaged with the heater on.
you'll will be perfect.
no annoying clicks.

The A/C will 'click' as the condensors kick in/out - this is how the temperature is regulated. Using the heater with the A/C will perform the secondary function of an air conditioner: the air is dried while defogging the interior of the vehicle (ie, the vent is on recirculation, heater is on, A/C is running).
A lot of newer vehicles will automatically start the A/C when the heater switch is set to the defogger setting.
And finally, concur with the other comments: A/C button pushed in, ON; button not pushed in, OFF.

You might be low on refrigerant in the A/C system, that can cause the system to click on and off when it should be staying on... After 15+ years there's bound to be some leaked refrigerant. The electrical draw on the alternator is the same regardless of how hot or cold the heater is set to - the fan draws power, the heater draws engine coolant heat.

On mine the fans blow faster when the head lights are switched on. Not sure if this is an ingenious Nihon design or side effect of DRL installation.
