Hey fostlongstrider, thanks for the link - I enjoyed your photos. You're right about the vintage of your delica. I'm only a rookie aficionado, but from the look of the headlamps and bash bars I say it's a 1990. Anyone else know the model year by the look of it? And hey, do ya ever speed?

Cheers and welcome. Thank you very much for sharing you picture links; everything from the minefield sign to the incredible whale bones interested all three of us. Really seems like another world from where we are currently.
Your Delica has the bars of a 94 but the headlights and missing lower body trim of a 90`s or older - of a Japan import Delica. Do you know where your Delica came from originally?
Regards,
Kev

Wow, your photos are fantastic, would love to get there. The 2 square headlights are often pre 1991 here, but might vary by which country yours came from, and as BCDelica wrote the bars look newer then 1990. A rough indicator of age is the tag sewn on the driver's seatbelt, it is printed with month and year of seat belt manufacture. If you send me the VIN number engraved under the drivers seat I can check it privately (welcome to use the PM Private Message function if you don't want to post it online).
Cheers, Christine.

Hi Christine
Afraid seatbelts have been replaced, she was imported here in '94 by the paperwork and either from Japan direct or from South Africa.
Delicas are used as taxis here, quite afew L300s about, private now, as taxi companies have L400s.
Chassis No P25W0304385 Delica Chamonix Starwagon GLX is full title.
For the other guy ref speeding, sometimes but its quite easy to get a 4 wheel drift on the gravel tracks out here and due to a miss calculation of the engineers when designing the road from MPA to Port Stanley you could park a delica sideways across the ditches( took the annual rainfall and somehow turned it into monthly)they are 20ft wide and 12ft deep!!!!!!!!!
It is good down here though the air is so clean,no pollution to speak of.

nice! I like the black and tan chamonix scheme, looks like she's gotten some good use out there too.
