Looking for ideas for a folding bed/sleeping area

So, my Super-Exceed Delica has finally arrived (thanks Mardy) and we are getting to know each other, for what will quite possibly become a long and committed relationship. Photos to follow...
I am planning to remove the back bench seat and convert it to a part-time camper (meaning, be able to open some space to sleep, and then fold it back). I will try to describe in words what I am currently envisioning, and would greatly appreciate any tips, suggestions, pictures of what you have done, and anything else that you think might be of use for me.
When not in "camping mode," the captain seats are moved back, facing forward. Behind them there is an elevated platform, which creates a bit of a truck space. It is permanently fixed, probably like an elevated board, which might be covered with something like a blanket or a permanently-glued carpet-like thing. Underneath, I can slide a few large plastic containers which can hold groceries and other stuff. Like a trunk space. Above it, my dog can hang out, when the car is full of people.
Then, when I decide to sleep in the car, it converts to a "camping mode." The captain seats move all the way forward and are turned to face backwards. There is another piece of board that opens up, creating a sleeping space. Where is it stored (somehow on top of the first, permanently-attached one?)? How do I keep it solid and resting on some support?
Anyway, this is how I am seeing it right now. Appreciate any and all your thoughts and suggestions in advance.
Thanks,
Simon
