Hi,
Does anybody know the part number of the Rancho RS5000 shocks for a Delica? I had my van at a shop which order the shocks for me and try to install it, but they just didn't fit.

Anything else they need to be aware off?
Which shop in Vancouver would you recommend for installing shocks?

Ah ok. Are there any good shock out there which fits to a Delica without this additional welding job?

Any other shops with better opening hours than NSOR?

An other question: If I have done my torsion bar and wheel alignment already, do I need to do the alignment again when the installation of the new shocks is finished?

Nope - you won't need alignment again.
Do a search for Pro Comp. You'll find lots of discussions about these shocks, pros / cons, alternatives. I run them and love them. The shocks on the van I bought must have been the one's it left the factory with!!!!

Check with Mardy (Amazing Auto - and Mardydelica on this form) to see if he has the pro comp in stock assuming you choose that model.

I also have the ProComp, happy with them but if you can try to change the bushings at each ends of the shocks with poly ones (usually red instead of black). That should help with longevity as the rubber ones on the ProComp won't last as long. Still, for the money the ProComp are a good choice. The Rancho may be better(?) but more expensive and not sure if it justifies the extra $$$.

I installed Pro-Comp . I got them from Mardy.
One thing you have to do is shave the ridge off the rubber bushings for the fronts. Its the raised rib that is on one side of the rubber that encircles the hole. I had a bit of problem compressing them to get the top nut on, so be prepared to use a small bar to pry up on the shock a bit. An extra set of hands is good too get the nut on. I think I paid 240 from Mardy for a set , and the ones Falco installed were about 135 a piece and his are adjustable.

Procomp Loop-to-Stem Shock Conversion Mount Kit

With it, you can use any eye <-> eye shocks (Rancho's) in the rear of your Delica.


It beefs up the rear by creating a large shock mount footprint.

That's why 99% of shocks on trucks are eye<->eye = strength.

With the mount kit, it gives you 2" of added lift so you don't need to buy a shock with an extended stroke length to compensate.


You can buy them at NorthShore 4x4 in North Van or Sport Trucks in Langley.

About $20-40 depending if you have an account with them.

What I had put on when I got Granola :

Procomp ES9000 (gas charged)

Front: 913515
Rear: 919520

What I replaced them with :

Procomp ES3000 (hydraulic)

Front: 315515 (2" longer stroke)
Rear: 319500 (same length except eye top & bottom)

For the rear I added 2" pin -> eye conversion blocks to use with new eye top/bottom shocks giving the extra 2" inches of travel I needed for my lift.

Thanks for your help and specially to jfarsang for the part numbers, but I left my van at NSOR this morning. They are going to install Pro Comp 9000 with poly bushings today.
I thought about the Rancho 9000 (would get the remote control for free) but still over twice as much $$$ :)
