Good morning everybody,

I know, I am writing tons of questions... and more and more keep coming to mind... so I really appreciate everybody's help and tips....

Here is another question:

The plastic/plexiglass wind visors on the front side windows are next to impossible to see through. Especially when the sun shines in from an angle from the front, you can't see a thing (particularly challenging, when wanting to take a left turn and looking right if the road is free).

I have been told that car-wax would work well... but Turtle Wax is pretty abrasive and before I begin making it even worse, I was wondering if any of you have a specific product in mind (or any other suggestions on how to fix the "frosted glass" look of these plastic panels) that would help.

PS: I just fixed the "wet footwell issue" with the leaky seam underneath the two front side panels on top of the lights.... man, what a job. Not only did I crack the windshield when attempting to reach the screw under the windshield rubber moulding.. but I had to "Dremel" virtually every f....ng screw out as they were totally seized up.... but it's done now....

I can tell! Did it yesterday. A piece of wood and a big hammer was my "Dremel" :)
Worked out quite well. We will see how it is when the rain hit the car the first time.

Make sure you also silicone the two front bits of your roof rail. There is also water coming down the front window sealing.

I was told to use "Back to black" for the monsoon guards. You also can order a new set. Mardy will have them soon. http://www.delica.ca/forum/monsoon-guards-3891.html

I just posted on this topic last month. I found a good product. I would say to use meguiars plastx Clear plastic cleaner and polisher.


It works wonders. Jmk reports that it did wonders on his bald spot as well.
This should fix you up.

hey, where are you located, it's fairly quick with a polisher, as small scratches and etching adds up, it dulls pretty badly. I've done a couple sets of these visors and they came out great.

Try "Back To Black" by Mother's. It gets rid of all that bluishness and makes them clear. There are other products that will do that job, perhaps better ("Auto Glym" comes to mind) but "Back To Black" is cheaper and more readily available. You can get it at Lordco for under ten bucks. It is a cream that you apply with a clean white rag in small circular motions. It also works on all the dark plastic/vinyl features of your Delica. Read the directions and DO NOT get it onto the paint job... smiles.

I second Falco's recomendation....I used the same stuff on a snowmobile windshield (same kind of plastic) and it looked like new.

Turtle Wax has worked great for me.

Back in North Van from Edmonton and Calgary.. (saw a few Deli's in Calgary.... one was parked yesterday at a Boston Pizza)...

Will get back to black and try it out...

Found a product called Meguiars "PlastX Clear Plastic Cleaner & Polish" at Wal Mart which they recommend for clear plastic or plexiglass windows (Boats, Motorcycles, Plastic Light lenses etc...) at Wal Mart... will try it out over the next few days...

Yes, as Fishlapper notes, I used it on the visors, and on my head with significant results.

Visors: Still clear after almost 2 months and a few washes.

My head, well, that's another story. At first my partner liked to admire her pretty visage on the shiny spot's reflection, but now, it's another story:
