Reminder for 4x4 Christmas Toy Run, be there for 9:30am if you want to be there in time for judging, and a chance to win a prize for your decorated vehicle. The Tardisdeli won a prize last year, and we're planning bigger and better this year.. ...

The mall is on the west side of 152, just south of 104th. Once in the mall, go towards the south end of the parking lot, just look for lots of 4x4 pick up trucks. Jay says north of the movie theatre, but I never noticed a movie theatre...

Last year we put our Christmas tree inside the deli, fully decorated. hung stockings from the seats. Front dashboard had cedar bows and Christmas Knick Knacks. String Christmas lights inside along all the curtain hooks, plug into your portable jump start battery pack (if you don't have an inverter), note that the blinking part of Christmas lights might not work, they will just be on steady as not running AC sine wave power. We wore our santa hats. Yup, tackiest decorated.

Remember, don't have stuff that might get u a ticket while driving. You can put the really dangly stuff up in the parking lot. And dont have Christmas lights turned on while driving. Last year it was very wet & snowy, so outside decorations got wet. Everyone leaves their vehicles and wanders around looking at others, and asking questions about winches/tires/ etc.

After they finish judging, then the vehicles slowly proceed out of the mall parking lot, turn right along 152th & go about 1 mile to the community centre, where you hand in your presents or cash or food donations, pay a couple bucks for pancakes / sausages / juice / coffee. Sit at long tables, talk to other 4x4ers. Wander outside looking at other 4x4.

Presents Guidelines: The presents are NOT given out there, just put into big bins, and put into delivery trucks. Unwrapped, or clear saran wrap, so they can give out to appropriate age group. Cash is always good $10.oo is adequate, more if you have it. Gifts should not be fuzzy toys (they have too many donated already), educational long term stuff is better. no batteries as families on limited income maybe can't afford the batteries replacement. Stuff for older kids, and teens is especially needed.

Merry Christmas, christine and jay.

I'm all for going there as a herd so Braid St. station will be a pit stop... Or you can join us at the Tardisdeli hotel (between Burnaby and NewWest) if it's on your way.

I'm coming in from Maple Ridge - but the Tardis Hotel is fine. I just need the location narrowed down a tad. I was through Gaglardi on Monday and I saw a whole bunch of hotels.

If Christine can Pm me with the long & lat, I'll hook up there .

Cheers.....or HoHoHo
