Hi,
I'm having a hard time to find Phenolic plywood in Lower Mainland. Called at least ten plywood places. Some of them even don't know this type of plywood. I found one company (Richply) which has something similar to create concrete forms out of it, but they don't sell to private customers.

Any idea where I can get a really durable surfaced sheet of plywood to use it as a floor for my Deli?

Reason for the difficulty in finding it, or even people who know what Phenolic is, is beacause that is a European classification.
Over here , the equivalent would be any plywood having a Can-Ply Exterior stamp on it.

I made a call to Windsor Plywood, and they knew what it was. Might be an idea to call them to ask what a suitable equivalent would be . I'd just use marine grade plywood, seal it with oil base paint.

Thanks for your suggestion. I called Windsor Plywood already. They knew what I was talking about, but they have nothing similar available. Marine grade plywood with a oil base paint is by far not as durable as Phenolic Plywood. I specially need the resin layer to make it really resistant against scratches.

What about Bamboo Plywood? It's about $130.00 for 1/8" and $175.00 for 1/4" (8' sheets). You can also get Bamboo Mat Boards (BMB) cheaper. I read the latter is favoured by the guys that build movie sets.

How strong is Bamboo? Is it possible to move things around without scratching it?

Anybody out there who could order wood from Richply in Richmond? They have something similar, but just sell to contractors :(

Apparently bamboo's main feature is it's ability to withstand moisture, scratching an wear. It's also quite an attractive material. Do some Google research on it.

Or use a marine epoxy paint to seal it.
