Ummm, 12 letters? They only share the 'a'.

But seriously, I think it's nothing more than fabric trim package and paint schemes: Jasper has a 'softer' fabric, while the Chamonix has the more durable fabric. I think the Chamonix came out first and then the Jasper. Noel? What say you?

And yes, I'm a cheeky monkey.

lol.....yes you are a cheeky monkey... well all I can say is I'm glad that i joined this site as not only are the people on here (me included) a bit warped, but seem real friendly ( and cheeky ) and helpful... so I can't wait to get one and go exploring thats why I think I'll be going for a jasper as I am a winter nut (camping / skiing....etc...) so I need the winter options, lsd, dual batteries...etc....now all i need to do is finish this plumbing school thing so I ca get one...:)

What the Chamonix has stock (what the Jasper may 'not' have) :

Chrome bull bars, front steps and passenger step
Chrome mirrors and mirror arms

Chamonix labelled bull bar cover ('Chamonix' text instead of 'Mitsubishi' text)
Chamonix 'double row' chromed rear bull bar
Chamonix aluminium sump guard/bash plate
Chamonix print hard wearing seat fabric with Chamonix logo embroidered
Chamonix print psychedelic 'head trip' hard wearing carpet
Chamonix hard wearing carpet 'over mats'

Hot/cold box (I've seen two Jasper's without them)
LSD (I've seen one Jasper with an open rear diff - may have been swapped with an LSD diff)

Other than that, they should be relatively the same.

I'd look for the following in a Jasper model :

Winter pack (2 batteries/larger alternator)
Limited slip differential
Hot/Cold box

Thanks so much....I'd like a hot cold box but the ones I've seen for sale here doesn't have one...:( oh well all I really care about is the lsd and dual battery thicker carpet etc... ( to keep me warmer here in Calgary ) so any thing else to look for would be greatly appretiated...Cheers..Rob

See... now Jesse, your answer wasn't nearly as cheeky as mine!

Doesn't the Jasper also have 'Jasper' on the detail bar instead of 'Mitsubishi' or 'Chamonix'?

Chamonix has more character and is therefore cooler. Warp factor nine, captain.

Pretty sure the Chamonix have captian's chairs where the Jaspers have a middle bench too. And isn't the hot / cold box optional in both models? Hope so, 'cause someday I'd like a bench-seated (love those middle benches!) Jasper sans the H / C box, which, for my money, occupies far too much of the already limited cockpit space :-D :M

Bench seats and hot/cold box are standard on Chamonix's.

No hot/cold box in our Chamonix. But then there's no "hard wearing carpet 'over mats'" either.

Hi, jasper & chamonix dont have cool box as far as i know. also they dont come with with capstain chair.
diff. between this 2 is the design of the seat i mean just fabric. everything is the same.
best for you if your looking for captain seat i do have 1993 model same as 1994 water cool injection newer design delica coming with dual battery for design for winter package, Cool box with crystal roof but only exceed. not super exceed. but the seat is looks much nicer than super exceed diff design. much good looking design, if need to see the design check on my web site as you cna see the seat pattern fabric design on it. very nice indeed if you can wait.i have 2 coming next month with crystal roof. but iwhtout crystal roof i have one coming end of this month.
pls check on my web site if you want.
cheers;
Mardy

thanks mardy as I mentioned on the phone a bit ago I need to wait till i'm finished school (plumbing) in a week or so then i'll be looking more seriously.....I'll keep you posted....I like the option of lsd though cause of the snow... as far as the other options I will need a rack etc...I also would like a hot/cold box (not really a sell for me though) but most of all LSD, high roof fog lights , rack/ladder.....I'll call when I have the $$$$$ in my hand and is burning a hole in my pocket...lol....
