Flushing heater core

My heat in the front isn't what it should be, can anyone explain how to flush/Back flush the core. where are the hoses? Do i need too drain the antifreeze?

I can't help with information on flushing, however a quick question, does your temperature gauge on the dash sit at half way once warm, or barely above "C", if the later what you really need is a new thermostat to solve the problem, if the former, then a flush is probably the right trick.

It's around the quarter mark. The rear heater seems fine.

I had to replace my block heater, since it crapped out on me after 3 months use last winter, and replaced my thermostat with an OEM thermostat. Did the replacements myself but had an actual rad shop do the flush since they have all the fittings and know-how. I consider myself quite handy, but thought best leave it to the pro's, I recommend a rad shop.
And yes, you need to drop all the antifreeze.

If you're not getting much heat, you might want to try replacing your thermostat. The OEM ones really are better.
If you're going to flush your heater core, make sure you flush it in both directions. The action of sending water in both directions is great for dislodging extra debris from the system.

good advise: thermostats are cheap and easy to replace, and you can eliminate that first for any heating/cooling prtoblems

Does anyone have a photo of the thermostat & its location on the waterpump. Anyone wish to confirm the part number as well? Understand some believe the wiki info to be incorrect.
The Russik manual is pretty vague the thermostat replacement for diesels - talks a little more about the gassers, but just says the location is on the waterpump.
I'm going to have to tackle this soon - barely registering in the normal range any more - has always run cool, but always in the normal range but now barely getting there as the weather is getting cooler. Still getting heat from the vents, but I'm not going to procrastinate any longer on this one.
