Does anyone have or know of a good place besides Kal tire ..etc to get some black steel rims that would fit 31's with the proper offset? Also one question I had was I've seen a lot of pictures of Delicas with 31's, front step removed and all. Has anyone ever relocated the A/T rad because of this? Or do most people just leave them there? Also considering removing the A/C system, mine doesn’t work anyway and I would rather put the window down then turn the A/C on. How much work is involved?

As for the A/C unit.

You'll need to take it to an AC shop to evac it.

Once done yank it out and plug the pipes if you don't need to use it.

I'm going to relocated mine sometime in the future. It's just not in a good place down there.

Will need to evac it and install longer flex lines.

Lots. Search it out though, Mystery Machine Bruce removed his and had a huge pile. Heavy too. I love the a/c myself and not just for the cool comfort in the heat of summer, but for the drying effect in the grim damp of the West Coast winter. Steamy windows clear right up with the a/c compressor engaged. Better fuel economy too to run the a/c with the windows up - less drag - just ask the "Mythbusters"

i got black steelies rock crawlers from north shore off road 50 bucks. And i went up to 15x8 instead of the stock 15x6, so much more solid. And i got 30x9.5x15 hercules trail digers on em had to cut wheel well a bit and take off panels for skirt and remove front step, rads fine were it is. there the same wheel a toyota would use

Keep your eyes opened on Craigslist. All sorts of rims cheap,cheap,cheap. I picked up a set of 15x7 steelies for $80.00. Slapping a fresh coat of black paint this weekend.

Got a pair of snow tires yesterday mounted on Toyota chromes. I was only interested in the tires -so now I'll be looking for a pair of chromes to match.

and also picked up a used Pyrometer for $50.00. Works fine - I love Craigslist

Thanks Irish_delica83, I forgot about NSOR, I will definitely check with them. I did see the thread that Mystery Machine posted. That was a pretty big pile, 50kg or something like that. If I remember correctly he pulled just about everything out for his work van. I'd still like to keep the heater in the rear, my plan is to setup an Espar diesel heater, so that I can get heat in the van without having to run it and utilizes the existing vents. Still need to figure out how to do this, if possible. If anyone has any suggestions on how, I’d love to hear it. As for my A/C it is already discharged, it has been since the day I got it. I’m sure myth busters are right, windows up A/C on rather then windows down like a parachute for fuel economy. I just prefer fresh air. I think the heater works pretty good to for the steamy windows in the winter.

I've given up on Craigslist... I haven't had good experiences with it. Oh the stories....

Oooo, this sounds really interesting... So you mean a heater, independent of the motor, that runs off diesel from the common tank (WVO, too, maybe ) Sounds like a VW bus gas heater. The old ones of those were pretty scary and are the prime suspect in a number of torched V-dubs, though by no means the only possible cause! I had a ever so slightly safer 1971 model and loved it. Really nice to have that instant hot air and no need to fire up the truck. Keep us posted on your progress, please!

Thats strange. I havent had one problem. selling or buying. Then again, its not hard to figure out some of the posts that aren't worth calling. And you can pretty much spot the hot/fenced stuff.

I'm running black steelies as well - 15x8 - 31x10.5x15 - haven't updated my avatar yet with the new photos, but got the steelies and virtually new Roughrider AT for $200 all in from Craigslist! (yes, motomaster, but I actually really like these tires compared to what I've heard about them - seem to be wearing very well and reasonable performance last weekend in the snow up Diamond Head).

I have not had any bad experience with them yet - bought my Deli, 3 sets of tires, 2 or 3 cell phones, 2 pairs snowshoes, 1 chevy winch bumper, tons of motorcycle gear, and sold my 2003 Cavalier all by craigs without any complaints. Understand the need to be careful - but so far so good!

Yep! That's the plan. The heater I have is actually meant for heating the cab without having to idle. Comes with a thermostat and everything. So you can just turn it on and leave it. This is the web site for the heater:

Hopefully it doesn't set the Deli a blaze. I will post everything I can about this, right now I just need to find the time and space to do it. I do plan on setting a WVO system, I think that's a project for next summer though.
