hi,

been lurking on the board for awhile, trying to put together all the information i need to decide what model of deli i am going to soon order...

have a couple quick questions for someone to answer for me please...

1) are the bench seats interchangeable with each other? could i take out the 2 seater with the jump seat and put the big bench from the rear in the middle? thus having more seating available and cargo space in the rear...

2) is lsd available on both the exceed and superexceed models? (i supppose i could always get it from that sketchy guy in the alley downtown if i needed it tho!!haha)

3) i read a little bit about the turbo timer, and it seems to be one of those things that are not entirely necessary but nice to have....as i am based out of saskatchewan and warming up in winter is a must, is a turbo timer something i should be wanting?

4)from what i can tell from comparing photos, the only "visible" difference between the cham/jaspers and the exceeds, are the absence of the flared out fenders on the cham/jaspers...and that the cham seems to have an ugly paint job with lotsa stripes and name lettering(opinion)....is that correct?

1) no, the rear bench sits on the wheel arches so there are no legs to speak on the bench would be on the floor.

2) pretty much all options where available for all models, all depends on what was ordered with it when bought, lots of supers have lsd I think (though I have not proof and can't bother to look) that the supers may have gotten it as standard in 92.

3) was never a factory option, turbo timers are personal preference, remote start would seem like the better option for warming up in the winter.

4) jaspers appear to be just like the cham just not as tough interior seats and carpet materials. fender flares aren't factory installed to the best of my knowledge but there is trim around the wheel arches on some models.

well, I can handle number 3. First, turbo timers are intended for cool down, not warm up. I don't think this has been mentioned, but turbo timers were more of an ideal solution for the non-watercooled turbos of yore to keep the oil flowing instead of sitting still in a very hot turbo, which would cause the breakdown of the oil, which leads to coking, and the overall loss of your oil's capability to lubricate properly.

So, with that, you can add a turbo timer which certainly won't hurt, and should further ensure your oil stays healthy between changes, but if there are other more pressing maintenance issues, I'd see to them first.
