Has anyone fitted these Yokohama Y742S tires on their Delica?

http://www.yokohamatire.com/tires_commercial/y742s.aspx

If not what's the largest diameter tire anyone's fitted on a stock van w/o clearance issues? These are taller than any LT235/75-15 tire I can find - comparable to 30 x 9.5 x 15 dia.
I've some old comparable Bridgestone 700-15s that are worn out @ 29" dia (these Yoko Y742Ss are 29.8") and when I put them up against the van there doesn't seem to be much clearance. I'm particularly wondering about turning lock-to-lock clearance on the front. The van is stock/no lifts or wheel-well mods and I want to keep it so.

Thanks!

They're good tires. Friend of mine runs them on an old landcruiser.

They will fit on the stock Delica rims (assuming you've got the 7R15's).

You'll have to level out the Delica (raise front via Torsion bar) and 'maybe' get rid of the lower steps depending on clearance.

I've seen Delica's differ from one another with a 'slight' offset front to rear when you measure the actual hub/axle position relative to the wheel well/frame.

You may have to trim a bit on the corners because this tire has a really high outer lug and it a bit larger diameter than the BFG 30's that many people are running.

With that said, the Yoko will seat better on the rim than the BFG's because they are skinnier = more even treadwear.

..just checked and my Sport King's 30 x 9.5's are 5/8" larger in diameter than my Wrangler A/T 225/75 R15...both sets are brand new. My 30's rub the front wheel arch mud guards. The Wrangler's are on a stock 6"rim and the 30's are on 7.5 steelies....even without the added offset of the steelies (both have 3.75 backspacing) these (SK) 30's will rub...the BFG A/T's may work but the BFG Mud's are doubtful as they share a similar square crown with the SK's.

Blackberry,

I first look at those exact tires, liked the idea of tall and narrow along with aggressive design. My main concern and why I didn't go with those tires was that I was concern they'd make the Deli tippy. It's already a tall and narrow vehicle, shrink its footprint even more didn't appeal to me.

I previously had 30" tires on 6 1/2" rims with no mods at all. Had the torsion bars cranked up but not re-indexed and had absolutely no rub, no matter how hard I tried. Put a larger rims/different offset and you may get some rubbing.

Good luck!

I ended up going with some "All Terrain" type LT235/75R15s... height 29". Looks to be enough clearance though haven't driven it yet to confirm.
I decided against the inch taller and narrower Yokohama Y742S 700-15s because...
- the tread seemed a little too aggressive for the vast majority on-road driving I would do...and a quietness was pretty important as well;
- If they were anything like the similar Bridgestone 700-15s on another vehicle I own, the sidewalls are quite stiff and it makes for a harsh ride.
- I was concerned about clearance on the front..and didn't want to modify the wheel-wells/body or need to fully crank-up the torsion bars only to gain clearance;
- I was buying 5 and was concerned the spare may not fit in the spare holder (ya, could modify it I suppose).
- with the 215/80 tires it came with there was only about 15mm clearance above the van's roof to fit in my garage doorway so I wanted to ensure I could still drive it in w/o needing to let air out of the tires (which, of course, inevitably one day I would forget to do :-)

I wasn't worried about being too tippy with tall tires as, from some pics I've seen of slanting Delica's they seem to have a reasonably low CofG.

Thanks to the posters for all the info.
