I haven't had the pleasure of meeting too many of you in person yet, being WAAAAYY up here in the interior...

...that said, I figured out quickly after first coming on this site that at the end of the day, the Delica is just another vehicle (OK, the COOLEST "just-another-vehicle"), and many of the people out there driving them are just like every other self absorbed person behind the wheel...

...BUT, those real Delicites sporting the on their rides and truly helping to form this awesome community on Delica.ca and as Falco has illustrated, out there in the real world, are the real reason I love my Delica.

I'd like to add to this with a big Cheers to the deli community!

I was greeted with an amazing warm welcome and invite from Jay and Christine to drop by when picking up my Deli, I wish I had the time to take them up on that(thankyou again you guys!!). Despite having not met many of you gals and guys in person. I have nothing but great things to say about the community. It's a huge bonus to owning a Delica to have a great group of friends who are as enthusiastic and interested in them as I am, and on many occasions, even more so!

I've been part of a few other tight knit online car communities, and it's far different from here, trolls, flamers, and just plain juvenile animosity towards fellow enthusiasts because everybody has something to prove.

here: good answers to vague questions. Nary a flame in sight, and warm welcomes to newbies, which these days is unheard of in a circle of enthusiasts of this size.

You guys rock!
PS: anybody from the victoria area interested in regular get togethers?

I'll add my thanks and praise for Jay & Christine. Having had the pleasure of 4 nights at the TardisDeli motel, I know how awesome they are.

Not to say there aren't many other wonderful people on this forum, and I've met quite a few now.

Help Guys!! Brian took my van to work this am, says he suddenly realized he's lost lights, etc. thinks he still has brake lights. Is it fuses? He's on the job site swearing at my van right now.

Jay went through everything and discovered a plug in the battery chamber that had burned out. It is one of the plugs that leads off of the batteries in the rear of the compartment (behind the batteries). The theory is with the temperature changes we have been experiencing, combined with age and condensation, the plug shorts because of intermittent connecting it heats up the plug, kind of like friction. The plug feeds a portion of the fuse box. I lost my lights, stereo, horn ~ my wipers, fan, indicators were still working. Jay replaced the dead plug with heavy duty butt connectors and all was well. Ironically the same thing happened to the TardisDeli a couple of days later. The technical term for this, Jay tells me, is "electrickery".

Jay is the man to talk to, he can give you a better description. This is somewhat bizarre how it is happening all at the same time.
