Well, I installed the new Pro-Comp shocks on the front last night after also replacing the sway bar bushings with Energy urethane ones and giving it a full chassis lube. All I can say is WOW! It's a completely different van. Super stable, not bouncy anymore, it's just awesome.

On another note, we also had the rear springs re-arched to bring them back to life and have ordered Pro-Comp shocks for the rear. The whole van is so much more stable than last week when we picked it up.

I'll post some pictures in the next few days once we have finished painting the new wheels and installing the tires.

You are right, what you did makes SO much difference, and its not that expensive and relativley uncomplicated. that, plus good rubber, and an alignment should be one of the madatory upgrades. the change is dramatic.

Just wondering where you found the sway bar bushings - the Energy urethane ones, and do you have a part number and make for them?

Got my shocks from Mardy, installing them tomorrow morning

I replaced the original shocks with ProComp 9000 ones and did not feel any difference. I am not sure what people are talking about regarding the huge improvements in stability etc.

Had the same opinion with ProComp then I re-indexed my torsion bars and the ride is how I like it, firm for city driving but absorbs big time for off-roading. I should have tried re-indexing first but didn't realize it would make such a difference. I had the torsion bars cranked up but guess that wasn't enough. I'm good with them now.

I think the ride improvement is going to be directly related to the condition of the shocks each person's vehicle arrived with. Mine were clearly in terrible need of replacement - the van bounced and dove like crazy. The Procomps were a massive improvement and very gratifying upgrade. Cannot comment about any other alternatives of course, but I believe that the shocks on my man when it landed in Canada were very likely the ones it left the MMC factory with!!!!

Gas shocks are a bit softer than hydrolic shocks,hydrolic last a little longer if that is what you put in.

Procomp's that begin with 3xxxxxx are the 3000 series (hydraulic)

Procomp's that begin with 9xxxxxx are the 9000 series (gas charged)

After trying out both extensively (city/hwy/offroad) I prefer the 3000 series for the Delica.

If I was to only drive on concrete in the city, then I would choose the 9000's.

Not really, but ideally you want the stiffer shocks on the front of a Delica.

If you put 3000's on the front, you will get a lot of body roll side to side when corning and front pitching when braking due to the soft oil shocks.

9000 series or a harder/gas shock is recommended for the front

Don't you want the 3000's (stiffer?) on the front because the gas 9000's are softer?

slightly confused...still have not purchased my front shocks but don't want to mess it up
