When buying my Delica from Silk Road as a 'decent shape vehicle' and spending big $$$$ within the first year to get a peace of mind driving it I never thought it would be so expensive to bring rims to a 'decent shape'. So far I have a quote for $175+tax per rim which brings it up to $800. Hmm. I wonder if someone has experience dealing with the same dilemma.

For that amount of $$$ I would either buy nice second hand rims, or just powder coat them....

I know you drive off road a lot, so ccould you avoid painting them by having the paint polished OFF then buffed smooth after or laquered (sorry I don't know what the metal material is on your rims, so I don't know if this is possible).

In my line of work I have to strip old paint and corrosion of of aluminum and we use a media blaster. NOT a sand blaster, sand will take material away, media uses plastic grains and doesn't distort the surface. There are a number of commercal places that can do this, then you can paint and clear coat yourself. Some deep corrosion needs a little hand work. I did this on a Blazer who's rims were looking like yours.
Just an idea, hope it helps.

I have recently replaced my wheels & tires, and have a complete set of those wheels in really nice shape. I had planned on selling them for a fair price. Can post pictures.

I had the same dilemma about 1 year ago

I had these nice aluminum rims that actually came with my van, as an extra set of 4, loose in the back, its a miracle they made it here as it was shipped ro ro, and sometimes your van does not arrive with everything it left Japan with. Anyway they were wider than stock, perfect for safely mounting the 30's I had in mind. Only thing was that they were corroded and pitted. Decided to go for it and had them refinished at Greens in Delta.... they did an absolutley incredible job, these rims were like brand new. I was really happy how they turned out and how they look on my van. So if you want the job done right, I would reccomend Greens. They are not the cheapest by a long shot. But you get what you pay for.

Your rims came out really good after I sand blasted them at U-Blast in Langley. They are now at a powder coating place and will get a black finish.

Picked them up from the powder coating place today. They look awesome in black. Will post a image if I got them mounted with the black lug nuts.

The cost to do 5 rims and a ladder came to $ 225.00. The price was $35/ rim but I think he got my discount so I think maybe a bit less.
Can't wait to see the rims and my gun metal gray ladder to match my rims.
