Some people use that fisheye to look back, while others use it to see the front of the bus for in tight parking - I like ours for the latter myself :M :-D

Some people like it on the top rail for the "overview". Depending on how tall you are, the rear view mirror could get in the way. One good thing about having it on top is you are less likely to have it covered by road filth such as salt, which can obscure your vision. I like it on the bottom rail where I can gauge the distance of my front left corner from things such as the centre line; a rock; a cliff ~ perhaps a curb in some cases. However, during the winter months I have to clean it more often to keep the salt off of it.

Another thing to think about it mounting it with the bar going forwards versus mounting it sideways. I changed it to forward on top bar to give me a better view down, but discovered that the headlight really showed then, and was really annoying, so I put it back to sideways on lower bar.
