I saw that one about feb/mar last year. It's been 'searching' for an owner for quite some time :-D

I was looking at that one, but they want $16,000 for it. The Toyota Hiace campers on the same site, on the other hand, were like $4000 cheaper. I am thinking buying a camper (probably the bigger Isuzu or Canter 4WD) like that in a few years time. But I am getting a travel trailer this year.

For the money you can do so much better locally (not JDM) for that price.

Can you imagine how dog slow that would be uphills and on the highways ? yikes

Also one big thing = approach angles

On the rear, it has the worst approach angle I have ever seen (even full sized RV's are better) meaning you'd drag 1/2 of that fiberglass camper on the ground at the slightest pitch angle.

Yowzee. $16000 and that doesn't include compliance costs, nor any maintenance. It's still in Japan. Interesting that there are no photos of the inside.

Looking at it again, I wonder if the windows of the camper part would pass inspection. They look like plastic rather than glass. But then RV rules are pretty weird.

Hi everybody!

I'm new here, so let me intr. myself: 27, living in Hungary, and I'm just planning a 2 year long trans-african trip with my GF. Our car will be definitely an l300 4wd (as we call them in e-europe:D) campervan. I don't want to spend more than 6-7000 CAN$, so I'm thinking in an 8-10 years old modell (thats the price here)

I found this lovely forum, and the delicia-campervan modification topic seems to be the best here, so if you don't mind I will ask a few things. (and sorry for my english, simply not using enough)

First of all:

It's an ad from a hungarian second-hand dealer's webpage. Something like this car gonna be OK for 2 years in the middle of Africa? Any "must to do" modifications or replacements? What should I check before buying anything?

Thanks for the replies!

Welcome to the forum markoferko!
As much as I like a Delica, but are you sure that's the right vehicle for this trip? It's probably hard to find spare parts on the African continent...

Yo napot ! En is magyar vagyok .

Your best bet for africa would be an older toyota landcruiser for reliability.

Welcome !
