New - Potential Owner

Hi,

I do not currently own a Delica but they have always appealed to me ever since I saw one a few years ago. I have been a Jeep fan for about 20 years, but my eyes and fingers on the keyboard keep taking me to researching a Delica. I am now in the market for a different vehicle and researching reliability etc. on Delica's.

Any comments or information would be appreciated.

Cheers :-D

Welcome to the club, J.

As Laura has mentioned, there is a lot of info on this site. By & large, they are a great vehicle; diesel; short wheel base; very simple as far as mechanics is concerned. They go pretty much anywhere. They require attention depending on what application you use them for as they are 15 years old. They are very well built, often with low kilometres on the clock.

First place you can check is "Delica Wiki" which you will find in the forum under "Delica Canada Technical". Look for the list for newly acquired Delicas, this will give you an idea of what you might need to do to your van once you had acquired it. There are also technical manuals there with exploded views, torque ratings, &c..

Make yourself at home.

Falco.

Hey J Davidson - welcome to delica.ca - Get a bus, you know you want too! :-D But hey, if you do decide you prefer the jeep body style there is the delica's cousin, the pajero, to consider as well. Quite a bit of discussion about them here too. I prefer the delica L-300 myself - that cab-over bus is really fun to drive and the rear space is super practical and adaptable. My all time dream ride :-D :M

I would be leaning toward the bus for sure. Going to go and try some on for size this weekend. I see your login name is Konadog (possibly in the pic?). I too have a dog (Golden Retriever) named Kona. Love the island - love the coffee.

Yep, that's the big guy. Named him after the bike company 'cause he likes to run beside us riding our bikes. A daily ritual for both mutts. Have a look at this old post for some pics of Kona, our new dog Penny, and a bunch of other deli-dogs! http://www.delica.ca/forum/how-many-del ... -2874.html
