Goodyear MT/R Kevlar
http://www.goodyeartires.com/goodyearti ... &sidewall=
I just picked up a set. Used the latest rebate and got my local tire shop to price match a dirt cheap store across the country. That put them in my price range.
Don't ask how much they were. I may start crying again.
Will post pics once I get them up.

I don't know anything about the performance of these tires (but if Jesse's got 'em it's a safe bet they're top notch)-- but man them 'r' some mighty PURTY treads!!! They look awesome!

In the back of my head, I'm still reluctant to part with the Nokian AT's.
But realistically, the places where this thing will be headed this summer, I need the strongest tire I can put on there with decent road manners.
This one just happened to come out right now. Who knows. It may not live up to 'the hype'. But I'll see and post a review.

according to real life non-partisan people who bought them in the past few weeks, they sound and ride like an AT on the road but cut into dirt like nuttin'
Goodyear ceased production of their money maker (goodyear MTR = maximum traction radial) that has been used on humvees/sars vehicles,etc...
For them to drop a tire line completely and replace it with something totally new took me by surprise as I'm sure it did lots of people.
Considering that, either they are going on faith that people will buy them or that the new technology they put into this weird looking tire actually works in the real world.
I'm betting on the latter.

I'm skeptical. But we'll see. Tread doesn't look like it would self clean very well.

Got the set of 31's. They look and feel very durable.
I was sitting on the fence between these and the DuraTrac's.
Let me tell you, as soon as I felt the DuraTrac sidewall, I laughed out loud in the store.
It's comparable to a road tire. I couldn't believe how soft and pliable it is.
What's neat is the Nokian sidewall feels like the MTR. Thick and strong.
That sealed the deal with the MTR's.

The tires stacked like that absolutely proves my Godzilla foreskin theory!
Right on!
