With the L400 about to hit Canada come May, will anyone be willing to fork out the same amount of cash to purchase a 300?

I'd still pay more for a L300 over a L400...

Let me put it this way: I would simply not buy an L400

IMO both the L300 and L400 will have their niche market.
As for cost and value, I think they are and will be at par.

I have no doubt about it. Also after trying a Pajero II it is embarrassing to feel powerless on a 'brick' L300.
L400 will take over L300 in Canada the same way as everywhere else. It is a matter of time only.

I dont see prices changing that much..
Late 2008 the new Model Nissan Skylines were available, a lot of people though they would change the market for the old Style.
Nope..
I dont see the space gears effecting the old ones that much..

just like with skylines, there's a bit of an ugly tax on new technology. But their functionality still makes them pretty cool.

Most of what we pay for our Delicas in Canada is import, export, transportation and compliance costs. The actual cost of the vehicle in Japan is a minor component, and is already very small. Since the extra costs are fixed, the cost of an L300 is not likely to change when L400s become available.
I've seen a couple of Nissan GT-Rs around town, and have seen what Top Gear (both U.K. and Australia) made of them. Wild, but I'll stick with Gumdrop, thank you.

I agree, they both have their niche. I think the L-400 would be especially good at turning up at the soccer pitch with the kids in style, then having the 4WD option for backing out of that muddy parking space.

I'm all over the L400. Just have to build up the guts to buy one.

L 400 has it`s "issues". More power, more problems...

L300 FTW!
= most unique vehicle on the road in Canada especially high roof version
= huge parts supply & backup in Canada
= big following with lots of tech support and tips available
= "supply & demand", many more for sale, bigger selection, much lower price

I can't decide if the L400 reminds me more of the 90s Nissan Quest or Ford Windstar. This photo below is very convincing....
