central door lock and power window issue

hi guys!
newbie here. I've an exceed model and I'm experiencing this problem that I hope u guys can help me out with. I live in a tropical country and the weather here is constantly hot, i noticed recently that whenever i run the front and back a/c at the same time for the whole day my delica's central locking and power windows cease working. I've experienced this once before but I just left it overnight and it was back to normal the next day. But now that is not the case, my power windows and central locking is still not working! :((
I've checked everything, fuse box, connections, and fuses. but they're all ok. unless there is another separate fuse box or relay for the power windows and locks that I am not aware of?
Please help!

I live in the Philippines. Mine's a '92 exceed. only had this problem once last new year's and I thought that that was it. Now it's back and it's even worse. I checked everything else again and not even the remote switch for the rear door is working! Does this year model have another set of fuses or something hidden somewhere else?

Check the voltage output of your battery and your alternator. If battery voltage drops much below 12v then it could prevent relays from switching. Batts. can recover their voltage level when left to sit w/o draw, but either the battery has been taxed to the limit and is worn out/won't take a charge well... or your alternator isn't charging it adequately to overcome the draw of the A/C fans (and all other elec. loads). Fan belts slipping?

There is this great place in Manilla, I believe, called ATI. A couple of their mechanics also have a shop in the Greater Vancouver area (in Canada) and they really know what they are doing, especially with the Delica. You might want to check them out.

hi, cbgavin,
try to get help from delica club phils. i know most of the member there.
the membership is free, as per the rear door. the rear door is not power door lock , the power door lock trigger is only on the driver side but only open 2 front door & middle door not the rear door.rear door can be open thru the push botton located near the defroste switch.

guys!
sorry it took me so long to reply! anyways, i brought my beloved deli to my trusted electrician and we found out that the culprit is that set of relays on the battery contact.. we jiggled it and it worked! good thing that that particular electrical part is carried by most of the surplus shops here!
was able to snag the whole part for 800 Philippine pesos! sweet! i'll try to post pics.. :D

btw,
does any of you get any squeaking sounds from your steering's rack and pinion whenever you and your deli go through rain puddles and such?
also, i did that silicone trick on the windshield thing but my deli's front carpet still gets soaked esp during heavy downpours!
any help from you gurus will again be greatly appreciated!

Hi cbgavin,
To keep your carpet dry, you must put a large thumb size blob of silicone sealant on the front ends of your rain gutters, which end above your front window. We have found that a small crack in the metal there lets water in, which runs down to the carpet. So put the silicone all around the front ends of the rain gutter, and above and below the crimp. It really works, we have shown this to many of the group when we go camping.

Tardis Deli's suggestion really works:
I have put so much sealant onto the cracks under the front side panels (above the headlights) as per the wet foot syndrome repair suggestions on the forum, that my van is now seriously front heavy
But I still got the wet carpets - didn't change a thing... so I have done the rain-gutter thing with just a minimal amount of silicone... and guess what... the carpets have been dry since.... even in the heavy duty rainfalls we sometimes (actually quite often) get here at the west coast.

im having door lock issues... they dont work electronically at all...
makes me wonder if my deli has power locks at all....

Power windows issue

Anyone knows the wiring of power windows circuits in newer (1993) vehicles? It is apparently different from the 1987 model diagram I have found on this site and there is no mention about the power windows in the Buchelli repair handbook that includes the 1993 models. Unlike the 1987 version, mine has some electronics in the power window switch. The PCB most likely controls the driver's side window opening but I would not suspect it because there is no voltage at all in the circuit. More preciously, there is some voltage but apparently very soft, maybe getting there from other circuits.
The questions are:
Which fuse (if any) in the main fuse box belongs to the power windows?
Is there any relay in the power windows circuit like in the 1987 model?
Anyone knows which wire in the "fusible link box" belongs to the power windows?
I am a little bit puzzled by the fact that the door locking, mentioned in other posts here, is working normally although it should have common fusing with the power windows. Everything else is powered normally, including the sunroof and back door lock.

I can confirm that the fuse for power locks is not the same one for power windows, as you would expect.

Well, I have found a dirty solution: Until I will be able to find any defective connector or hidden fuse, the windows circuit can be powered from the remote mirror adjustment - there is 12V available on the connector that leads to the mirror control switch. When this one is connected to the blue wire on the power windows switch, the power windows can be operated just like before (ie. the starting key must be in the "1" position etc.).
If I am right that the problem is somewhere below the dashboard, it would be necessary to disassemble and remove the dashboard, which is something I would rather avoid

When trying to figure the cable path, I ran across an additional 10Amp fuse in a black holder, located on the cable stem approximatelly under the glove box. The fuse was blown but no change after I replaced it...
Anyone knows the purpose of this single and hidden fuse? It doesn't seem to be for the radio because the radio was not affected. But maybe the previous owner made some changes to the connections, who knows. The original radio was probably stolen and there is cheap replacement one.
