Hola from Calgary

My name is Fabio and I'm new at this website. I am buying a Delica Super Exceed and I'm very excited about it. 1991 and 108,000 kms. Not sure if this is too many kms, I hope not.

I drove it yesterday and it was nice... I was wondering if there's any Delica owners here in Calgary. For what I've read, it seems that everybody lives in BC... Am I the only one here?

Hope to post some pictures soon! I'm getting it tomorrow!

Thx!!! :D

Hi Fabio,

Welcome to the club :D don't worry about the 108.000 km's, know people who drove 300.000-400.000 km's without too much repairs.
it seems that everybody lives in BC
I don't  (not near Calgary either, sorry)

Hi Fabio,
There's a bunch of us in Calgary, myself, Green1, Leathercat, Kyle, and a few others, also a few popping up in Edmonton.

108,000 Km... not too many kms, considering these engines could run for much much longer, but it all depends on how well it has been cared for and maintained. At that age I'd make sure the timing belts and tensioners have been changed at a minimum.

Hope to see you around, and looking forward to the pics. Welcome to the site!

Jon

Hi

I'm trying to read the site as much as possible, and I figured out a way to see who's in Calgary. It's nice to see there's a few Delis out there! Don't feel alone anymore ;-)

Is there a (reliable/cheap) place you could recommend where I can take the van for a service like this... actually, for any other service???

Thx...

ummm... Hi! (I'm in Calgary, and so are a few others)

Timing belt does need doing at about 100k, and it is DEFINITELY worth making sure it has been done, as if it goes it takes the whole engine with it...
mine had a sticker on top of the engine indicating when it was done, if such a thing is not on your vehicle then you should get it done, there are quite a few Delica garages in BC, not a lot in Calgary, you may want to check with Luxury Imports, I know they do some work on the vans they bring in, don't know if they will service other people's vans too, but they should at least be able to point you in the right direction.
