My brother is buying an older diesel school bus and lives in Nicaragua. I was wondering if he can just run straight WVO from his restaurant without any conversion since it is around 27 degrees everyday. Will there be any bad side effects if he does? Thanks.

Best solution is to head down south and help him install a simple pre-heater..........

We've been holding steady daytime temps of 35 with an average of 80% humidity lately; and I still wouldn't consider going over a 50/50 mix of diesel/WVO. Primary reason would be ruining my engine due to incomplete combustion; our truck actually has a 07 3 liter electronic Nissan engine, just turned over at 10,000km, rated for B100 so the rubber/not rubber bits should be fine. Even a early morning temperatures of 25c would cause very hard starting on 100% veggie - we use rice bran oil. Don't do it or the old school bus will turn into the dead school bus; cut the oil with diesel. Still saving and on the plus side the single tank mix seems to be more homogeneous in the tropics; warm weather and deeper potholes. By last measure I have only been running a 70 % diesel, 30 % WVO mix here; but we average less than 200-300 km's a month on the truck -- why drive when you can ride.

BTW would love to have a WVO Delica to roam all of South Asia in!!!! Could picture it; save some WVO up and than bang go explore Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia or China. Sweet

So thanks for the opinion, I was leaning the same way. I figure I will just tell him to blend seeing as how he wont be driving it that often. He owns a hostel down there, so most of the time he is not doing trips.
