Just seeking advice

hello everyone, im not new to the jdm world, but i am new to the pajero world. I am just about to pick up a 92 pajero, and have a few question that i havent been able to find answer yet.
1. Anyone know where i can find a 93 or newer pajero hood, the one with the hood scoop??
2. what is the widest tire i can run on my pajero? i got 32x10.5 nows, and i want to run either 33x12.5 or 33x15.5's
3. Does any company make the wider fender flares for our trucks?
Just wanted to say thank you, and i enjoy having a canadian forum about theses trucks.

www.pocuk.com has tons of info about tire sizes. I took mine to a Firestone dealer in Burnaby and received amazing service and great tires. I have seen a link for the fender flares, but not sure if they were still being offered. Try milneroffroad.com, they could probably point you in the right direction...just found this site:

Widest tire without some serious cutting is a 1250, provided you have the proper offset. I *believe* my 91 had 4.5 inches of backspacing, on 15x8s. This is also provided you have flares... without flares they're gonna be wayyyy out there.
As far as wider flares go, the Iceland guys have them, and they do run the mondo 15" wide tires. But I don't know where they get the flares, or how they fit the tires? Google Pajero and Iceland, and see what you come up with?
Hood: It comes from a 93+ with a 2800 diesel. The scoop is for the intercooler. Its "doable" on your 2.5, but bear in mind that you currently have a double hood, and the intake air goes in through the ducts at the top of the grille. I'm not sure that the scoop will line up with your intercooler, and if it doesn't, you'll end up with less intercooler-cooling than you had before. Be a pioneer and try it out! Find a buddy with a 2.8 swap it on there and see how it lines up!

lol any advice is always good advice. And i see that you already get what im goin for. Arctic truck all the way, kinda need it here in Manitoba when we get those stupid winter storms we get.
I never knew about the double hood, thanks. im happy now that i know my intercooler is getting some sort of cool air. On the jaos website they had a set of flares but they were for the 99, will those fit?

Nope, 99 is what we unofficially call the gen II.5 (started JDM in 96, 97 for NA). Mitsu got rid of the full flares, and flared the actual fenders instead. While you might be able to swap the whole fender, the flares themselves won't fit on your genII.
If you look at this Icelandic genII.5, the fender flares (verb) above the added on flares (noun)...
The rear axle is also moved back, truck is bodylifted, and the footwells are also cut to make room. Not to mention you'd need to swap in some 5.29 diff gears if you actually wanted to be able to get up to highway speed with those boots on!

I went in a different direction myself, and use 33x1050 tires. Lighter, and the dig down to find traction, with their higher contact pressure. They work better IMHO in all but the deepest mud or snow, where our smaller engines don't generate the HP to spin the tires clean anyways. Just my 2 cents.
