How do you pronounce it? I find that people vary with their pronunciation. I figure that if Toyota makes a Celica ( sa lee kuh ), then Mitsu makes a Delica (da lee kuh). That's my opinion.....................Kirk out

Strangely, I pronounce Delica and Celica differently.

I pronounce it Dell ikuh and Ca lee kuh...go figure

The original Japanese pronunciation sounds like "deh-rih-ka" - both from ads on Youtube ("japanesecarcm" has several D:5 ads online), and from Japanese speakers like Shogo at Japanoid.

Phonetically, the kana (デリカ) say "deh-ree-kah", but the middle "ee" is very short.

Incidentally, I pronounce it the same way I pronounce Celica.

Acording to a table of how Mitsubishi came up with their names (found on the UK site) Delica comes from to DELIcately CArry you and your belongings or something like that, so I would think it should be dell i kuh, but I say it the same as celica.

I thought it was DELivery CAr so it would be Dell Ikah

I think the Japanese pronunciation falls somewhere in between the two... something like DEH ree ka. I picked up on the Celica rhyme initially, and now it's hard to change. Whichever one I choose, the person I'm talking to seems to use the other. I guess you just have to speak with authority and don't flip-flop.

where i come from toyota makes a sell-eeka
i usually say dell-ee-ka with emphasis on the second, but sometimes it comes out the other way

In japanese, all three syllables will recieve the same accent.
