Rear sway bar. Who got one and who didn't from the factory ?

I've seen many a L300 Delica over the past 4 years. They have been sprouting like pumpkins in October.
When you look underneath at the rear sway bar mounts, two 17MM bolts thread up into the u-channel underneath the Delica body.
To date, I've counted 9 Delica's in various trim/exceed, etc... configurations with no factory rear sway bar.
There are no threaded holes. Just flat steel. There are no L-brackets that the sway bar would bolt onto the axle (u-bolt plate).
I've always removed my rear sway bar as it has zero effect on the handling, limits rear articulation and usually comes with shot bushings.
I'm wondering aside from the 9 I've counted, who else has their Delica that came from the factory without a rear sway bar ?

Since Jesse is asking who DIDN'T have one from factory I guess I'm not invited in the party but I know the TardiDeli came without, a '91 exceed I think.
But the main thing, why are you so curious about this Jesse, aren't you driving a 400?

The sway bar improves handling and body roll. Unless your Delica is a straight line hot-rod... or you drive on the moon, your ride will benefit from this feature.

Wasn't the rear sway bar added just somewhere along the time line of L300 production? We didn't have any.
Remember those thingies that prevent spring wrap you helped me identify a year ago Jesse,
http://www.delica.ca/forum/what-are-the ... -3651.html, did you see any of these under any Delica skirts you looked up? Which btw we only found on the 1990 Delica.

Every Delica that I've driven in that came without the rear swaybar from the factory, drove just like the Delica's with the swaybars. Swapped tires, shocks, swaybars, etc... and no difference.
Until you go on a logging road, bumpy road or offroad. Then the swaybar becomes a nuisance as it limits the articulation which cause the van to topple side to side considerably more than if it's not fitted.

No sway bar on a 1990 P24 Exceed. Have the axle wrap preventers - they may be useful when the turbo goes on
Hate sway bars, I tend to agree they make little difference. Even in my lifted all coil Range Rover, the sway bars did little to reduce roll. One option I do see on some rides are factory remote detachable sway bars (on some Patrols). A quick release could easily be fabricated for a Delica which would allow the driver to have the sway bar for the highway and none for off road.
