We're selling our auxiliary battery system that is pre-wired (courtesy of Jay) for an L300.
To make it short, it's a smart charger/solenoid that connects and separates the two batteries (one main and one auxiliary)
The controller has some nice features.
Digital readout of both batteries and tells you what's going on with them at all times. Alarms can be set as well when they begin to reach low capacity.
Can manually override and link the two batteries together to jump start in case your main battery drains to the point of not being able to start the Deli. Can manually link the two batteries together in a winch/heavy load application.
When you turn on the key, it detects the amount of mah's in your batteries, bridges them for the starter and then disconnects the aux. battery once you've started the Delica. Then the alternator begins to charge only your main battery until it's up to it's normal capacity. Then it switches to charging both batteries (main and aux).
It's a great system and it's powered our fridge, laptop, radio, aux lights, heater and little fan on our last 2 week-long trip across BC/AB.
On the overland/world travellers forums, the National Luna system is rated at the top.
Consists of :
National Luna Smart Dual battery system $180
National Luna Dual controller $120
Wiring to/from National Luna to aux battery $30
Lunch paid to Jay (tardisdeli) for the wonderful install
Selling for $250
This is a bargain for anyone who would like to get into a manageable dual battery system.
It's not being used and I prefer to have it go to a good Delica home where it will get use.
