For those who have had there Delica's in Canada for a few years now, one question.
Has any body rust started to show up since being in this climate and our road conditions ? Assuming not too many came over in the first place with any already.

My L300 had some surface rust on it when it arrived from Japan, the rust did spread after it got here, but I didn't notice any new infestations.

The only rust to turn up on the Miss Lil' Bitchi is where the paint has been removed and this has generally been in the undercarriage area, usually from off-roading experiences. I would say that some of the rust accelerators contributing to this would be from the prevailing winds that blow in from the Pacific Ocean. I think the biggest accelerator is from our social peculiar fetish with putting copious amounts of salt on the roads. As far as the external body is concerned, I wax the van with a quality resin/sealer system and have yet to see any issue with rust. Concerning the undercarriage I crawl under the van, clean the rust off and spot paint from time to time.

Living in Victoria, BC, it's as mild as Japan and we don't use a lot of salt in the city (mostly the liquid de-icer), we've not had a problem with advancing rust on our van. I should think that might not be the case in Alberta or Ontario.
