Custom muffler shop in Victoria?

Hi there,
My exhaust is dying (big crack around the bend before the muffler) and I was going to replace it with a stock one but I have read about a 2.5" diameter helping out with performance. I'm considering going that route since I have to replace it anyways. Does it help performance just by itself or is it just that it becomes the limiting factor when other modifications are done?

Any suggestions for who would be able to do this in Victoria and what the ballpark cost is likely to be (don't like the hassle of having to go somewhere far)?
I understand SS would be more durable but is it really necessary (I don't really care about looks, it's all about function for me) considering exhaust on cars are pretty much always steel anyways...?

Anyways, let me know what you think.

It is already the limiting factor, so it will help all by itself. (much larger than that probably won't make a big difference without some other upgrades though)

CVI in Richmond, BC does custom exhausts, I believe they can ship it to you. CC Autos, in Coombs, might have these, not sure. As far as Victoria goes I'm afraid I can't help you but I would imagine they're out there.
