AFTER THE OIL CHANGE , HAS ANYONE LOOKED TO SEE HOW QUICKLY THERE OIL TURNED BLACK ,I HERE THE OIL TURNS QUICKLY IN THESE THINGS OR IS THIS A LOAD OF CRAP AND AM I IN FOR A LONG EXSPENSIVE RIDE ... NEW TO THE DEISEL ENGINES

This is normal in every diesel engine. Diesel oil turns black the moment you pour it in. it doesn't indicate any problem.

your engine may have little Milage on the dash, but may have idoled around Japan alot more than you think, in every engine you get a layer of 'grunge"(for lack of a better word) like if you do an oil change, you may wash your hands but you still have some in the cracks of your hands for days if you dont get a super strong detergent in there to clean out the grunge layer.
the next time you do your oil change, put in one liter of ATF fluid (if you have the room) and run that for a day of driving, not it wont damage anything. Then deturgants in the ATF fluid will scrubb all the cylinder walls , rings, hoses. and SUPER important that MANY people dont realise is that your TURBO is lubricated with your engine oil so you need to clean the metal parts for them to keep working for years to come. SO run a liter of ATF fluid in your oil for a day so every metal part will get a good scrubbing and the nastyness will (should) if you have a decent filter get traped in the oil filter. Your oil will come out tar black and your filter MUST be changed, but your oil should stay clean for a couple weeks if you make sure to let that atf fluid do a good scrubbing, but ya it will eventually go back to dark and then black, but if you do this each time you change your oil you will (should) have a nice healthy Clean engine.
I do this religously with all my engines , on my surf I ran it with the atf for about 3 days and did lots of driving around, and my oil stayed clean after that for a long time. but this is only what I do, you need to decide for your self

Where did you learn that idea to use ATF as a engine flush?

Can't see how it would hurt anything, but I ain't no mechanic. I do know a little chemistry and ATF doesn't contain detergents, but has dispersants which would have a solvent effect to sludge. School daze are fuzzy lately, but ATF is mineral oil base with a whack of additives. Would like to see my oil look a little cleaner too.

The long and the short of it is, as Green1 pointed out, that it is normal in all Diesels for the oil to turn dark black almost right away. It does not signify a problem, or dirty oil. So do not panic... just enjoy your new ride.

not sure where I learned it from, Ive been a truck driver for over ten years, both heavy industrial and highway, its just what we have always done. for logging we did our own oil changes and lube work and Ive just always carried it through to my own vehicles. . Ya I agree with the other guy , you dont have to do it, but I like to know I got that extra bit of sludge out of my turbo feed and all the other little pathways. . sort of like running a cleaner in your rad to make sure the pathways are not blocked at all.

Do u put ATF in OLD oil, drive 2-3 days, than change OIL and FILTER, or put ATF in NEW oil and after couple days change only FILTER ?

I put the atf in the dirty oil thats in the engine currently a couple days prior to changing the oil,
your oil will still go black quick, but its the cleaning of the lines and wall, pathways that im after, it will stay cleaner looking for a few extra days,

Think of it similar to exercise and eating healthy to clean your arteries out around your heart, you dont See instant results, but you feel better and will most likely put off that heart attack for a while.

keep eating properly and exercise and you will have a much better life,
Dirty oil and crap in your engine is like eating at Mc..... all the time and then being told you have run run marathons each day.
see how long you last doing that....

1L ATF is enough ?

I put in between half a liter to a full one depending on how much oil is on the dipstick , don't overfill it ...

If you want to keep your oil more of a gold colour for longer get a secondary bypass filter. Most of the blackness is soot that is created when the Diesel is running - which is entirely normal. An oil bypass filter will remove most of the carbon particles that cause black oil.

As an added bonus it reduces engine damage!
