anyone done one or know if there is a decent spot underneath for a tank (even a pretty small one that could be the diesel tank and the stock used for WVO)?

As far as I know, Pajeros don't have any available spots underneath. All installed I have seen so far are with an tank inside.

sucks, if it comes right down to it I can go single battery and put a tank about the size of a battery for diesel where one of the batteries was, just need to insulate it properly :)

There isn't a lot of 'dead' space underneath a SWB - it's all filled up with 4x4ing ruggedness. You might try a split-tank where the fuel tank is: one side is diesel and the other is WVO with spouts on either side of the vehicle. The SWB has a 60 litre tank (at least mine does), but I've read online some have a 75 litre tank, and I wouldn't be surprised if the LWB 90 litre tank would fit back there (might lose some on the departure angle).

There is a nice little area where the body steps up, the rear heater core and fan assembly are located there, this would be a perfect spot for a small diesel tank. If you removed the rear heater assembly you'ld have even more room there.
