It might help if you understand German but if you figure out how to log into this forum you'll find that L300 are being used in all parts of the world... Nice to see other forums than the typical ones we've grown used to.

As for the winch install it was under the Equipment sub-forum. There was another post about a L300 traveling for 5 months in South America... Gotta love the net!

:D Glad you like. There are quite a few very talented fabricators and mechanics on this forum, but because there are very striked regulations in terms of what you can modify and how you wont see some crazy 10" lift with 35" tires kind of stuff.
To make it at least easier to find the thread about a winch on a l300 here it is:

Oh and this one is about the PTO:

Just in case someone still believes it is not possible.

not impossible, but still a LONG way from easy and practical. in fact I believe I stated such before, all you need to do is HEAVILY modify your transfer case, and find or make many parts that simply aren't available... easy right?
If it's so simple, how come there are NONE in Canada?

we probably have way fewer, we have had them for a way shorter period, we don't have dealer support, and we have people (or is it person :P) that feel the need to tell people that things are impossible (are close enough to be) all the time. Nay sayers, the anchor around the neck of society.

If it's so easy... DO IT! I won't stop you. (and please, post a step by step how-to including all necessary parts and where you got them in case everyone else wants to follow your lead)

There are PTO here in Canada, my buddy had a pickup with one, I think that most that have them are work trucks that have the option from the factory - just a guess on my part.

That is entirely unrelated to what we are talking about.
We're talking about taking a stock L300 Delica Starwagon and equipping it with a PTO. Which while technically possible, is far enough from practical to be infeasible for any but the most die-hard backyard mechanics. The other qualification to this, is that you are NOT to replace the transfer case, because I've been told repeatedly that it is not difficult to modify the existing one for a PTO.

Could this be considered "Entrapment"???
