Calgary meet 18 May

Rural is coming to town. Now wouldn't that sound odd if you didn't know Rural was a user name?

Anyway, he's going to be in town 18 May. So I propose that we meet at 7:00 PM at the Deerfoot Mall (Deerfoot Trail & 64 Ave NE). There is a food court there, and lots of room in the SW corner of the parking lots for doing mini-test drives. (Peter's wouldn't be as good for test drives.)

If someone wants to suggest another location, go ahead.

All are welcome.

Edit: slight change of location to NE corner. See post below with map.

Works for me! (especially being that you'd have been hard pressed to find a location closer to home for me... the engine won't even get up to temperature!)

Argggg.

I won't be in town for that one either. Off to BC to enjoy some better weather, well at least it probably will not snow. Anyone want to meet up this week? Anytime anyplace.

Me too for off topic, wow Jagged Fish is now in Calgary, guess we won't be seeing you at our deli-meats, we will miss you (sob). But Fred Erebus will look after you nicely, I trained him well by showing him how our meets work. Christine.

Thanks for the kind words from my BC Deli-friends! Yes, now in Calgary but still have ties to the coast (my cabin in Davis Bay) and will still be back and forth... just not as much as I'd like.

Looking forward to meeting the Calgary gang and putting faces to the familiar names (and the unfamiliar ones too, of course).

Cheers all!
Ian

Looks like I should be able to make the meet on the 18th, as long as the weather holds, and they don't end up rescheduling any more of our soccer matches!

Tomorrow (Tuesday) is it. Hope lots can make it. Let's move it to the NE corner of the mall, right at 64th Ave & 11 St (X marks the spot). That area is usually wide open and empty, and where the weekly car shows happen on Wednesday evenings, so people should be used to gatherings of vehicles.

X marks the new location. If that doesn't work, plan B is where the B is.

Weather is still looking not too bad.

Well, I'm packing up now to head to Calgary. Just need to get the winter tires taken off the car and do the livestock chores. (We've just started lambing. First one made its appearance yesterday. Perfect timing as always.)

Looking forward to the event... Much more-so than sitting around with a pack of nerds talking about technology and education, which is the real reason for my being in town.
