Hello, looking for any comments/advice on this one, or even silk road autos in general.

http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/rds/c ... 14192.html

I am on the island, so I would like to gather any info before I considered a road trip to take a closer look.

Also open to any other leads on a clean (of course) Delica. I am looking for either a blue or black two tone, super exceed or Chamonix. Other options are dependant on condition and price. I am open to a local (BC) purchase or still willing to import from Japan (always looking online).

Sooner I get one (or order one) sooner I can update a photo here too.

Anything/advice thrown my way is appreciated.

Cheers

Silk Road has been around for at least a few years. I looked at several vans of theirs while I was looking for a van. I found them to be non-pushy, and honest about the condition of their vehicles. Find out exactly what service this price includes and what warranty they are offering and compare with other dealers. To me, it's more about educating yourself about what can be expected for the price, and then asking for it. The prices at dealers lots doesn't vary that much - there is a fair amount of competition.
Buying from Japan, then waiting 2 months for your unseen vehicle to arrive like I did, can save some $ - but you need to know what you're doing (I didn't). It's definitely nice to be able to kick the tires in person.

Thanks for all the replies/PMs so far, all kind of Delis and info flying in. Should trip over a Deli made just for me soon.

Of course would be much easier for me if jfarsang would sell me his and pick up a new project :-D
