Delica friendly Mechanics in the USA? (WA, OR, CA, NV)

Hi there, I will be purchasing a Delica in a few weeks and then heading down for a road trip through the States a week later. I am buying from a dealer and then heading south with my fingers crossed that all goes well. Has anyone had any breakdowns in the States? If so, could you share your experience? I will be heading from Vancouver to Reno.
Anybody think it is a terrible idea to take a new Delica purchase through the States?
If I were to carry spare parts with me, what would you recommend?
Thanks for any advice you can provide!

Depends on the vehicle condition, what has been done to it, what hasnt been done to it. What kind of garantee did you get with the purchase? Will they cover any breakdowns if youre south of the border ? Tough question to answer when you don't have the vehicle in front of you.
Then again, you are going to Reno, so why not gamble

My question was more along the lines of mechanics and service available in the states. I have heard stories about people having trouble getting people to work on Delicas down south. So to answer your question...it will be in top shape, low kms, etc etc with all the necessary upgrades done, and I will only be purchasing it if a third party mechanic says it looks good. With that said, nothing is ever a guarantee, it could look perfect but then something craps out in 1000K... just like any other vehicle out there. I once bought a brand new car off the lot and the alternator turned out to be faulty and left me on the side of the road on my first road trip. One never knows. Im just trying to think ahead to save myself any grief if the unexpected happens.
So, do you know of any mechanics in the states?
Thanks!

Look for someone who works on diesels and/or someone familiar with the Dodge Raider, Ram D50. Mitsubishi and Dodge have been in bed together since the '60s so a lot of Dodges have Mitsubishi motors under the hood.
I don't think anyone has collected or put together a list of JDM-friendly mechanics located south of the border.

Thanks so much.
Hopefully I might hear from someone who has had work done in the states. I think, between a CAA membership and knowing where a good mechanic might be, any worry about a JDM in the states could be solved!
haha, not to be such a negative thinker or anything! I have just known or heard of a few people who bought great Delicas in awesome condition from respectable people and some random unforseen mechanical failure surfaced shortly thereafter.
