Hey Delica Friends,

Tired of that god awful plastic cover at the front of your Delica, you know the one that's all faded and grey when it was originally shinny and black. Anyway I heard of a way to bring it back to black with a butane torch, but this is a safer and much easier way.
The "Trim Shine" (featured below) is available at Canadian Tire for under $10. I originally got it to clear up my rain covers on the front windows, which it does, makes them crystal clear. It also does wonders on the dash and backs of the mirrors. Pretty much anything plastic. Anyway I tried it on my the plastic delica cover to the front grill and it work amazing. Needs a touch up every month or so, but it only takes a minute. I tried it on a couple of friends and got great results on all of them. If it is really oxadized then results can very. Try it out.

Nice job, Baba ~ I agree with you about the heat gun treatment and it sucks the oil from deeper in the plastic to the surface, which I believe will eventually lead to cracking. I use a product called "Auto Glym". I pay $5.00 more for it and drive over town to get it but I feel comfortable with it. Still, you reckon "Trim Shine" is a good product? Always good to know these things. I found that if your shroud over the bambie bars is really greyed (as mine was), then more than one application is in order. I used "Mother's Back To Black" which really gets it back to black ~ only thing I found is that it doesn't completely dry for a couple of weeks and has a tendency to collect dust.

You have done a beautiful job and this will help your Delica last longer against the elements, to be sure.

Falco.
