Maybe I shouldn't be registered here as I do not have the luxury of living in a Delica...YET.
I'm looking for feedback about the 8 seaters, with the back seat folding out into a bed - which models and years have this feature? And if there are many, which is most comfortable?
Thanks!

8-seater is a bit of a misnomer - there are 8 seats but the eighth one doesn't have a seatbelt so it's not usable.

All of the back seats fold down - not flat, but down - and so a bed is possible, although most of us have removed the rear, built a bed, camp, return bed when back in the city.

The L300 is only a 7-seater.

The L400 comes in two variations. A 7-seater with rear bench + 2 captain's chairs. And an 8-seater with rear bench + middle bench w/jumpseat with a true should belt and lap belt.

The 8-seater L400 comes only in the following models :

1994+ PD8W low roof models
1995+ Chamonix low/high roof models

We asked the same question not that long ago. When your seats are folded down you won't be perfectly straight but having a queen size air mattress on top of the bench is quite comfortable. We slept really well on our last few backpacking trips so much so that now we plan on doing more day hiking and trail head sleeping next year.

I have an L400 7 seater and folding down all the seats on drivers side makes a very comfortable nights sleep.
