What kind of car do you have? What sort of diagnostic are you looking for?

From Wuhan, China. So, there is no direct link...
"...including obdii.us,"
Is this the spam package? I checked out that site and it does sell automobile diagnostic tools... The interesting thing here is I don't think these are bots I think they are real human beings ~ there have been two others: Roxanne22, from Manila, Philippines ~ which everyone treated as a member, even though there was a direct link to "SEO" in her signature line (which I have since removed); the other is "sales.luani@gmail.com" which had no link, no reference to anything other than his username that has the word "sales" in it ~ from Tonga, a group of 176 islands in the middle of the Pacific ocean.

This is something that requires consideration. If this is a new style of spamming then it is a grey area and current members could potentially fall under it, who is trying to move the rims?

This is not a new style of spamming. It is around since SEO matters. You don't need a direct link to push your website for better search results. Of course there are many humans working full time on stuff like that without bots.

You have already quite a few indicators for spam. First his username related to the link he posted, second his very vague short post, third he is a first time poster, forth his IP address. I wouldn't say just one of these indicators is enough to judge, but all together it's spam for sure.

I used to work for a SEO company. We had a staff of 15 people that were generally involved with link exchanging. General spamming using human beings to make posts on blogs or forums etc is a common practice. Generally if they have SEO in their sig, it is not a good sign.

Even if the link is not formatted properly, if it gets picked up by google in relation to the other words that is treated as a plus.

What about the guy from Tonga? He doesn't advertise anything, just wants a 4D56T. but it came out of nowhere ~ he joined; he posted ~ haven't heard from him since. When I look at the size of Tonga... 748 square kilometres divided by 176 islands.... perhaps a taxi, I don't know.

Well, your manners aren't exactly up to par ~ generally one formally introduces one's self to a new forum (see the forum: "Member Introductions").
那么,你的态度是不完全达到标准〜一般一个人正式介绍了他或她自己到一个新的论坛(见论坛:“会员介绍”)。

However, seeing as you are still here Obdi:
