Being an Aussie I don't know what it is all about.
How about one of you clever chaps give's me a brief discription of the meaning of it.
I can only assume it means what it says, but what brought it about?

It's the Harvest. traditionally served with turkey (a large bird that is easy to catch ~ North American thing) ~ a time to be grateful for what you have and mindful of those less fortunate as the cold winter months draw nigh.
