Did it ever really leave? Or was it just covered up with a smouldering layer of 'ruggedness' (read: dirt)?

It was really Filthy from a summer of off roading,I think I washed Her once!
I changed out all fluids, filters, belts, plugs ,greased and waxed her up for winterization!!
It is running great!!
