I've been reading up and collecting parts, getting ready for the big jump into the world of WVO...
and today i stumbled across this:

apparently 20% unleaded GASOLINE and 80% clean WVO will healthily run an unmodified Diesel Engine?
There's no way this can be true. but there's a bunch of sites telling me it works fine!
I don't know the people on that forum, but i trust the delica.ca crew.
So what do you think?
should i mix up a batch and give it a try, or would i be seriously f'ing up my cherished ride?
sorry if this seems like a no-brainer to allot of you, but i'm totally new to this wvo world, and i'm just in disbelief it could be this easy.

Your Delica will NOT like it at this time of year.

What it likes :

Hot weather/summer - maximum 50/50 diesel/wvo blending with no conversion
fall/winter/spring - maximum 90/10 diesel/wvo blending with no conversion

A few liters of straight gas is good to clean out the system but only gas/wvo will hurt it (the injection pump).

I've been doing WVO now for just over 3 yrs. Installed two kits and made my own custom Winnpeg -40C proof system. My first thought was, where are the people on these posts from? Why I ask? If they are from Florida, they could probably get away with 100% WVO in an old Benz and have no issues. But, cool things off a bit and you have issues. I'm not a chemist, just a practical backyarder who wants to save a buck and save some environment if I can along the way. I will always go with a kit because I don't want to buy dino. We travel to BC 1-3x's/yr so a kit pays for its self in as little as a year for me. (I bike to work year round so the car is used mostly in the evening to go to kid's events). Winnipeg weather is to cold in my opinion so I can't rely on thining alone. If your handy with some wrenches, put a kit in for yourself. An apples to apples comparison of kits today to yesterday seems to indicate that the price is actually coming down. The biggest exception here though is the aluminum for a tank. That just keeps going up. The electronics now offered is a new big expense for a kit.

Read the WVO forums and make your own call ie. Frybrid, Plantdrive, etc.
