Can anybody comment on warmup and cool down times for the turbodiesel?

just curious, Karim at Silk Road spoke to me about this briefly.

All the best,

When I start cold it takes about 2km or so before the heater will blast, alot faster then my old GM. dont know what you mean by cooldown time I don't hang out after I shut it off (well not all the time)

It is mostly a turbo thing for the cool down. If you give the turbo time to cool off and wind down before you shut it down it will improve their life. As for warm up, just don't drive it very hard at all at the beginning, let it warm up gently. Of course this is just something I have always done as I have always driven diesels... meaning I am not sure if this is actually what you should be doing, or just something I have always done.

Hello

There are some really good gismos called turbo timers. They will keep your engin running while you are walking away. They are often equpped with other good features too like: kill switch, battery life status, etc. I am waiting for one to come in from Japan and Needless to say I think it is a must for the turbo as a re build of the turbo is $1500+ while a timer range from $50 and up to $300. As per the duration for cool down when looking in to it the most compelling idea that found said to cool down 1 M per H driving.

Have good one,
