Hello there, i have a question about the chassis of my starwagon from model L037GW.
My understandings the base chassis is based on Mitsu montero, did it meant it have similarity to pajero L047 chassis?

The chassis is not the same. Not even close.
The Delica/L300 chassis is a unibody.
The Montero/Pajero chassis is a frame (separate from the body).

Uni-body, also known as monocoque.
There are similarities. The engine & drive train are similar, the Pajero is kind of like the brother of the Delica (sister).
Falco.

Sorry to say but early -86? 4wd L300 were a full chassis design. which is what im guessing is a L037G. They still make this shape in the Philippians as it is a good base for a Cab Chassis truck?, so they can put whatever box/tray on the back.

Even full camper ones.

This shape stopped somewhere around 84/85/86, but has continued over there.
I see a couple getting round my home town with body lifts, not your delica type lift but a normal 4wd poly body lift.

Hello pals, your're right. I meant here is the early 86 model where as it having the the saparate chassis and cabin.
Im looking for possibilities for cabin upgrading to starwagon 90's or even the newer version.
Just spoke to one of the car dismantle at my area, and they claimming , it is not possible to do upgrading of cabin , even with the l400 cab. Just need to fill up a few forms , to make it legal to use for insurance purpose....
I'm not sure on this delica , but last time i ever changed the cabin from my older montero L047 to newer model of V46W..

Older Pajero's(montero) and Newer Pajero's(montero) used the same style of chassis, as for the vans, -86 has a seperate chassis, 86- has a integrated chassis in the body of the vehicle so no way (without big dollars) to put a later model van on the older style van chassis.

Huh.... i thought all production years of L300 4wd having a separate chassis and cabin...? Understood that the 2wd model having integrated chassis to the cabin body but not on 4wd models....please correct me on this.as i'm very new to this delica.
