Took the kids up Cypress Mtn. About 10" of white stuff up top.

For access to no-cost hassle-free tobogganning, there is a small unmarked parking area (about 30m squared)right by the side of the main road about 1.5km before the turnoff to the X-country ski/snowshoe/pay-money-for-the-priviledge area.

Parked in this lot, with their kids playing with their sleds on the slushy plowed dirty snow piles by the side of the road were:
- Acura MDX
- BMX X5
- Ford Escape
- Lexus RX350
- Mercedes GLK350

If you follow the tracks at the end of the "parking lot", there is an access road, unplowed, for about 250m up to a small clearing surrounded by unspoiled snow areas with lots of inclines and paths perfect for hiking and sledding, far away from the dangers of the main road, and safe for kids and dogs to run as they please.

On a Delica difficulty scale of 1-10, the road is about a 2.5

Parked in this lot were (including me):
- 1987 Toyota Tercel 4WD wagon
- Three L300s
- L400

8-)

reminds me of the time i was 50km back on the logging roads behind Powell River, up a side road into the snow.. we came around a corner and there was an L300! my lifted van made it another 3km or so and then we came upon two girls snowshoeing...

I was also there on Saturday with my daughter, around 1.30 PM, there was only 2 L300 and the Tercel.
I actually kept going further up the road to see how far my Pajero will make it and to be honest I was pleasantly surprised.
By the way, if you go on the west side of the snow sliding area you can slide and nobody will charge you money, you have to pay only if you slide in their fenced area.
Cheers

After yesterday's snow here in Victoria (I know, I typed snow... in Victoria... and it was hard for all of you to read over all the laughing), I found the Pajero is much handier in the snow than the L300. Probably because there's a bit more weight in the back end, but I think it's the AWD setting on the Super Select II transmission. I'm just waiting for more of the white stuff!
