Hi, Over the last couple of weeks my gear shifter has got very stiff to use and eventually the dash lights have gone out of sequence and I find it harder to find neutral or Park to start the engine.
Somebody on the UK forum posted this link to your forum, so I checked it out and its spot on, the same fault,

This seems to be the only two accounts of this happening that I can find, So I'm trying to get my module off, see photo taken from the above link.

but is solid, and I don't want to force it to much until I know what holds it on. I've taken the nut off the shaft and the 2 bolts that hold the metal bracket at the back, now should the module just slide off the centre shaft or have I missed something.

Thanks Ken.

Hi Ken, how is your problem, any resolution yet? I don't suppose it was a simple thing such as spilt a bottle of sticky pop or cocoa while driving and it gummed up the shifter knob and trickled into the wiring? Cheers, Christine.

Hi, the module in the picture had seized up, I've got a spare lined up but for now I've took it off but left it connected and cable tied it to the side of the tranny, Then wired in a temporary keyswitch straight to the starter motor soleniod, so now the dash lights always in drive and I don't have the reverse bleep and I presume no reverse lights, but aleast I'm still mobile till I pick up the replacement.

Thanks Ken.
